Mexican Mixup

2 lbs. ground beef (I used ground turkey)
2 tsp chili powder
2 tsp oregano
2 tsp cumin
2 tsp salt
4 tsp sugar
1 large onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 8 oz. cans tomato sauce
3 6 oz. cans tomato paste
5 cans water (fill each of the tomato cans with water)

Saute ground turkey (or beef) with onion and garlic until no longer pink. Drain off grease. Add spices and tomato sauce, paste, and water. Simmer for 40 minutes. Serve over rice.

I like to make the sauce the day before so the flavors blend.
