Shortbread


1 pound butter
1/2 pound Confectioner's Sugar
4 Cup flour
pinch baking soda

Cream butter well. Add sugar gradually and beat well. Add soda and flour. Beat til well mixed. Divide into four balls and press out on ungreased cookie sheet to desired thickness. Press fork around edges and prick top with fork. Bake 275 for about an hour. Cut in pie shapes immediately and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
