Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 pound butter, softened
2 cups dark brown sugar
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 tablespoons vanilla
3 eggs
4 cups regular flour
2 cups self-rising flour
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
4 cups chocolate chips

Cream together the butter, brown sugar and sugar. Beat in vanilla. Add eggs and beat again. Stir together the flour, salt and soda; add to creamed mixture and stir. Mixture will be sticky and dry. Stir in the chocolate chips. Drop by small ice cream scoops on waxed paper-lined cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Allow to cool 5 minutes on cookie sheet before removing. Do not reuse waxed paper.

Makes a huge batch.
