Fudge Frosting

1/4 cup butter
1 cup (6 0z) semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1-2 tablespoon milk if needed

In medium saucepan, combine butter with chocolate chips, granulated sugar, milk and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Simmer 3 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat til smooth. If too thick to spread, add milk. Frost one 2 layer 9" cake.
